The Broadfield Community Centre is the original Broadfield School built in 1870 and used as a school until the 1950’s. The building has a heritage listing as a Category 2 building and the land on which it is sited is a Recreation Reserve. The main building comprises of a hall and kitchen, with storage shed, toilets, tennis/netball courts and car park on the reserve. The Community Centre can be hired out as a venue for meetings or social events.
Venue hire is charged per hour at the following rates:
1. Community Rate: Applies to non-profit groups that directly benefits the local community. This includes local schools, faith groups, and community-focused events. The rate is not available for bookings involving commercial activities or for private gain.
Please note: Eligibility for the Community Rate is determined at the discretion of the Selwyn District Council. Proof of non-profit status or community benefit may be required.
2. Standard Rate: Applies to all other bookings that do not qualify for the Community Rate, including private or commercial events.
There may be additional charges or requirements depending on your booking.
Pricing takes effect 1 July 2024 and is reviewed 1 July each year. Any quotations given during this timeframe may increase in line with this.
