Rolleston Community Centre
Description
The Rolleston Community Centre is a Community Hub for the Selwyn District, with our community groups offering a growing number of activities for the community to participate in. The Centre also has a variety of venue spaces for hire and hosts a wide range of recreation activities such as classes, markets and events.
Venue hire is charged per hour at the following rates:
Community Rate: Applies to non-profit groups whose activities are open to the public and directly benefit the local community. This includes local schools, faith groups, and community-focused events. The rate is not available for bookings involving commercial activities, private gain, or events connected to political parties, candidates, or campaigns, where the activity is associated with an individual or group seeking elected office or advancing a political position.
Please note, eligibility for the Community Rate is determined at the discretion of Selwyn District Council. Proof of non-profit status or community benefit may be required.
Standard Rate: Applies to all other bookings that do not qualify for the Community Rate, including private or commercial events.
Pricing takes effect 1 July 2026 and is reviewed 1 July each year. Any quotations given during this timeframe may increase in line with this.
Additional charges or requirements may apply depending on the nature of your booking.

A multi-purpose room, used for sports training and tournaments with a fully sprung stadium floor, bleachers and court markings suitable for basketball, netball and badminton.
The space hosts a 6m x 3m fixed stage, making it suitable for a variety of events, such as awards dinners and weddings.

Common Space
The Common Space is available for bookings after 6pm weekdays and weekends.
As a shared area, it is not available to book on its own and can only be booked in conjunction with spaces within The Hub. The Hub includes the Common Space, Workroom, Glasshouse and Dry Studio. The Hub is a suitable space to host workshops or meetings offering a flexible venue ideal for workshops, meetings, training sessions, and small expos that benefit from breakout rooms or separate presentation and display spaces.
